C. Tate Is Held In Jasper. Jasper, Ga., February 9- With a large number of friends from throughout the state present, the funeral of former Congressman F. C. Tate, who died suddenly here Tuesday night, was held this afternoon. The body was interred in Tate, Ga. The services were simple and were held at the home of the deceased. Dr. Walter B. Dillard officiated with the assistance of Rev. W. T. Watkins, pastor of the Jasper Methodist church, and Rev. S. G. Wills, pastor of the First Baptist church. Employees of Mr. Tate's farm acted as pallbearers. Mr. Tate was well-known throughout the state, and was considered very wealthy. Previous to is election to congress, he served Pickens county in the general assembly for several terms and also was solicitor-general of his judicial court. In 1908, he was appointed United States attorney for the northern district of Georgia, remaining in office until 1912. While in Atlanta he made many friends there. He was intimately asociated with Theodore Roosevelt, and while in congress took a prominent part in its proceedings. He was 65 years of age at the time of his death, which was caused by an attack of acute indigestion. Mr. Tate is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Julia Bell, of Cumming, a sister of Judge George L. Bell, of Atlanta; Colonel Howard Tate, his son, and Miss Virginia Tate and Mrs. Andrew Genett, of Asheville, N. C., daughters. Clarence Bell, of Atlanta, is a nephew of the deceased.
