Johnson In the name of God Amen. I, Thomas M. Johnson, of the county of Pickens and state of Georgia, being of sound and disposing mind and memory and being desirous to settle my worldy affairs while I have strength so to do, do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking all wills by me at any time heretofore made, And first I commit my soul to God who gave it, and my body I desire to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner and my worldy estate I dispose of as follows: Item first I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved son John J. Johnson, a part of lot of land Number Ninety four (94) in the thirteenth district and second section of said county of Pickens, commencing at the north east corner of said lot, and running due west the original line to where the line crosses the branch the second time, thence running down said branch a conditional line to the creek to a cluster of sycamore saplings growing around the root of a stump below the ford on the creek where it corners , thence running nearly east to the foot of the hill, thence running nearly east around the foot of the hill to the spring out of which the said John J. Johnson now uses water cornering on a white walnut tree at said spring, thence east to the mouth of a small stream entering into the big branch, thence running up said stream to its head, thence running up the ridge to a poplar tree on the original line of said lot, then the original line north to the commencing point. My said John J. Johnson having rendered me many acts of kindness. Item second I also give grant and devise to my beloved son Albert W. Johnson the following described lands to wit, a part of lot of land number ninety four (94) in the thirteenth district and second section of Pickens county, commencing on the north line which runs east and west at the branch, thence running to the branch to the creek, thence down the creek oposite the mouth of the second branch coming on the creek on the west side, thence running on said branch to the original west line of said lot , thence continuing up the branch into Lot number ninety five (95) same district and section to the head of said branch, thence running due west to the original west line of said lot number ninety five said west line running north and south, thence running north the original line to the north west corner of said lot of land, thence running due east to original line of number ninety give and ninety four to the starting point. This item of my will to take eddect and be valid only upon condition that the said Albert W. Johnson pay to my daughters Jane Boasman and Mary C. Carr fifty dollars each. Item third I devise and bequeath unto my beloved son Henry B. Johnson, for and during his natural life, and at his death to become the property of his daughter Altha Caldonia Lee, who is my granddaughter, the following described property to wit: A part of lots of land numbers ninety four (94) and ninety five (95) in the thirteenth district and second section, Pickens County, Georgia, commencing at John J. Johnson's spring on a while walnut tree on lot number ninety four (94) and running a south course a conditional line to the original south line of said lot running east and west, thence running west along the original line of said lot to the original corner of said lot, thence running due west along the south line of lot number ninety five (95) same district and section to the south west corner of said lot number ninety five thence running the original line of said lot due north to the center of said lot number ninety five that is about half way on original line north and south from south east and north west corner, thence due east to the head of the second branch mentioned in second (?) item of this will, this is the branch coming into the creek from the west side and down said branch to the creek, thence down the creek to the cluster of sycamore saplings mentioned in the first item of this will, thence running east to the foor of the hill, thence around the foot of the hill to the white walnut tree, the starting point. Item fourth I devise and bequeath to beloved daughter, Mecca Duncan, wife of G. B. Duncan and to her children which she now has, or may hereafter have free from the control of her present or any future husband, about fifty or sixty acres of lot of land number ninety four in the thirteenth district and second section Pickens County, it being in the south east corner of said lot, being all of said lot not bequeathed in this will to John J. Johnson, Albert W. Johnson and Henry B. Johnson. Also I bequeath to her in the same manner twenty five acres more or less in the south west corner of lot number ninety three (93) in same district and section. Item fifth I give and bequeath to beloved wife Harriet J. Johnson one bed and clothing, bed stead, one walnut table and table furniture and reasonable amount of cooking utensils and a reasonable or creditable support during her natural life or widowhood from the lands devised in this will and my Executor hereafter named is directed to sell any other property not named in this will or bequeathed herein and to pay any debts I may have and pay any surplus if any equally among my children. Item sixth I hereby constitute and appoint my sons, John J. Johnson and Albert W. Johnson my Executors to carry out this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Thomas M. Johnson have to this my last will consisting of five leaves of paper, this being the sixth page, set my hand and seal this the eleventh day of March 1879. Thomas M.
