Lena Smith Davis

       BLACKSHEAR - Mrs. Lena Smith Davis, 84, died suddenly Wednesday from an
apparent heart attack.
       A life-long resident of Pierce County, she was a retired school teacher
and member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, the Retired Teachers Association,
the Singles Club, the Pine's Womans Club and the Senior Citizen's Sewing Club.
      She was the daughter of the late Quitman A. Smith and Serena Lovett Smith
and was the widow of Theodore Harrison Davis.  Survivors include a sister, Mrs.
Guthrie "Georgia" Davis, Blackshear; several nieces and nephews and other
relatives.
      The family will receive friends at Pearson Funeral Home from 7 to 9
tonight and at the Davis residence.
      Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Rehobeth Baptist Church with the
Rev.Vernon T. Vaughn officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
     The body will remain at the funeral home and will lie in state at the
church one hour prior to the service.
