Peacock Is Laid To Rest Thur. Aged Resident of Pierce County Had Been in Declining Health For Several Years. Mrs. I.S.Peacock, age 80 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Bell Kelley, seven miles west of Blackshear, on last Wednesday. Mrs. Peacock had been in failing health for a number of years, but during recent weeks had shown some improvement. Her sudden death was a shock to her many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Ben James church at one o'clock with the Rev. Henry Tyre of Screven and the Rev. W.D.Bryant of Coffee officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Peacock are five daughters, Mrs. Anna B. Kelley; Mrs. Casey Shuman; Mrs. Ida Cancey, Jacksonville; Mrs. Nola Hableton and Mrs. Mary O'Quinn, Blackshear; three brothers, Charles, Joseph and George, all of Blackshear. Mrs. Peacock was born in Pierce county and was well known throughout this community. She had scores of friends who will regret to learn of her death.
