A lifelong resident of Pierce County, she was a member of Beulah Church. She was the widow of John Riley Thrift and the daughter of Wilson Joseph and Mindy Peacock Mock. She is survived by a daughter, Dorthanell Hodge of Pensacola, FL; four sons, Charles W.Thrift of Alma, Riley C.Thrift of Hoboken and James Carroll Thrift and Edward Ray Thrift, both of Blackshear; two sisters, Verdie Lee Nunez and Rachel Davis, both of Waycross; a brother, Joe Mock, Waycross; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and several other relatives. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benny Yearty officiating. Burial will be at the Ben James Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Pearson Funeral Home and at the James Carroll Thrift residence, Route 2, Blackshear.
