Waycross Journal-Hearld 08/11/1987
     Claude Waco Nunez, 81, died late Monday in Riverside Nursing Home following
a long illness.  He was a native of Pierce County but had lived in Ware County
since 1944.  He was a retired carpenter and a member of Jamestown Baptist
Church.  He was the son of the late Elder W.P. Nunez and Elender Dedge Nunez.
     Survivors include his wife, Verdie Lee Mock Nunez, Waycross; three
daughters, Charlotte Dixon, Palm Harbor, FL, Nelda Austin, Fernandina Beach, FL,
and Claudine Newton, Fredericksburg, VA; three sons, J.C. Mock, Blackshear,
Clyde Nunez, Jesup, and James Nunez, Fernandina Beach, FL; 15 grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren, and several other relatives.
     Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clough-Pearson Funeral Home in
Blackshear with the Rev. Dennis Carter, the Rev. Brian Herrington and the Rev.
Luther Peacock officiating.  Burial will be in the Ben James Cemetery in Pierce
County.
     The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. this evening at the
funeral home.
