Waycross Journal-Hearld 01/08/1988

     O.J. Peacock, 73, of Ware Manor Nursing Home in Waycross, died Tuesday
night, Jan. 5, 1988, in Waycross after a lengthy illness.  He was a native of
Pierce County and had lived in Alma and Savannah before moving to Ware Manor in
1979.  He was the son of the late J.R. Peacock and Vicy James Peacock.
     Survivors include two sons: Kenneth Peacock and James Danny Peacock both of
Alma.  Two daughters: Mrs. Jo Ann Mullis of Alma and Mrs. Virginia Faye Watson
of Greensboro, PA.  Two sisters: Mrs. Eula Mae Dixon of Blackshear and Mrs. Ruby
Wiggins of Waycross.  Two brothers: Lester Peacock of St. Marys and Omer Peacock
of Blackshear.  Ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
     Funeral services were held Thursday at 3:00 from Beulah Baptist Church with
the Rev. Benny Yearty officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.
     Active pallbearers were: Vick Peacock, Gary Mullis, Bryant Wiggins, Eugene
Dixon, Darrell Peacock, and Gilbert Aldridge.
     Crosby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
