Peacock, 74, of the Beulah Community of Pierce County, passed away Sunday morning, June 23rd, in Memorial Hospital following a long illness. A native of Pierce County, he was a retired farmer and employee of the Big Z Tobacco Warehouse. He had also worked for Ridley's Meat Curing Plant. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Pierce County Farm Bureau and the American Legion. He was a son of the late James Rance Peacock and Vicy James Peacock. He was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Christine Smith Peacock of Alma; three daughters, Mrs.Melissa Walsh of Blackshear, Mrs.Rachael Harden of Alma, and Mrs.Sheila Previtt of Colquitt,GA; and two sisters, Mrs.Lewis Dixon and Mrs.Willis Wiggins, both of Blackshear. There are eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several other relatives. Services for Mr.Peacock were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon from the Beulah Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev.Benny Yearty, and the Rev.Luther Peacock officiated. Interment was in the Beulah Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Ft. Stewart Mortuary Detail.
