     James Lester Peacock, 71, died Thursday at his home in St.Marys after a
brief illness.
     A Pierce County native, he had lived in St.Marys for the past 38 years. He
retired from Gilman Paper Co. in 1981 after 30 years of service and was a member
of St.Marys First Baptist Church.
     Survivors are his wife, Eula Mae Peacock, St.Marys; a daughter, Delsie
Aldridge, St.Marys; a son, James Derrell Peacock, Orlando, FL; two sisters, Eula
Mae Dixon and Ruby Lee Wiggins, both of Blackshear; a brother, Omer Peacock,
Blackshear; two grandchildren and a great-grandson.
     Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St.Marys First Baptist Church. Burial
will be at Oakgrove Cemetery, St.Marys.
     The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Dekle-Wainwright
Funeral Home, Kingsland.
