She was a native and life long resident of Pierce County. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She was retired from Swain Manufacturing Co. in Waycross. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Pierce County and had taught Sunday School there for a number of years. She was the daughter of the late James R.Peacock and Vicy James Peacock of Pierce County. She was also preceeded in death by her brothers, Oden Peacock, Omer Peacock and James Lester Peacock; a sister, Vicy Catherine Peacock and by a granddaughter, Charlye Dixon. She is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years, Lewis Dixon, Pierce County; a daughter, Geraldine Dixon Head (husband Eddie), Pierce County; a son, Eugene "Gene" Dixon (wife Joy), Waycross; a sister, Ruby Lee Peacock Wiggins, Baptist Village, Waycross; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Aug.13), from the Beulah Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Beulah Cemetery. Mrs.Dixon's grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. They include Rick Head, Duane Head, Timmy Head, Stacy Taylor, Andy Head, E.J.Head, and Robbie Hiers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryant Wiggins, John Carroll, members of the Adult Sunday School Class at Beulah Baptist Church and the Deacons of Beulah Baptist.
