Mrs. Lewis has been an invalid for several years. She was born in Pierce County and has lived here all her life. The Rev. W.D. Bryant of Coffee officiated. Surviving Mrs. Lewis are her husband, D.S. Lewis of Blackshear; three daughters, Mrs. Gordon Davis, of Douglas, Mrs. Virgil Strickland, of Nahunta, and Miss Eva Lewis of Blackshear; five sisters, Mrs. W.J. Mock, Mrs. A.O Minchew, Mrs. Ira Youmans, Mrs. James L. Walker and Mrs. J.P. Burgsteiner, of Blackshear. Honorary pallbearers were A.L. Davis, J.L. Davis, Talmadge Harrison, W.M. Tuten, Melvin Minchew, I.E. Sweat, T.M. Walker and M.O. Knox. Active pallbearers were E.L. Minchew, Nathan Peacock, A.A. Burgsteiner, Lester Peacock, J.W. Mock and Leroy Youmans.
