A lifelong resident of Pierce County, he is the son of the late Stephen L. Youmans and Hannah Waters Youmans. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blackshear. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Macy Peacock of Pierce County; three sons, James L. Youmans of Waycross, Mack Youmans and William Youmans, both of St.Marys; three daughters, Mrs. A.J. Walker of Patterson, Mrs. James A. Powell of Mt. Pleasant, TX, and Mrs. H.C. Short of Greenville, TX; one brother, George E. Youmans of Blackshear; two sisters, Mrs. W.M. Bowen and Mrs. W.M. Tuten, both of Blackshear; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Blackshear. Burial will be in the Waters Cemetery in Pierce County. The body will lie in state at the Youmans residence after 5 p.m. today and at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the church. Darling Funeral Home is in charge.
