The Blackshear Times 11/18/1943

     Vicy Peacock died 11-12-1943 at 11:50 A.M.  Attending physician was
Dr.T.E.Oden.  She was taken to Darling Funeral Home.  Her age was 58 years, 7
months and 2 days.  She is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters, 1 brother
R.L.James of Savannah, GA, and 4 sisters, Mrs.J.B.Lanier, Mrs.Hobson Carter,
Mrs.L.O.Tuten, and Miss Macy James, all of Blackshear, GA.
     Pallbearers were her nephews as follows: Wilbert Mock, Malcolm Youmans,
Henry Mock, Howard Tuten, Bennie Carter, E.F.Vickers, Lem Knowlton and Clemen
Peacock.  Honorary Pallbearers were: Bob Ridley, L.B.Smith, Floyd Roberson,
V.B.Guest, A.J.Guest and Everette Moore.
     Funeral services were held on 11-14-1943 at 11:00 A.M. at Ben James
Cemetery with the Rev.Mack Tyre officiating.
     Vicy's sister, Ethel James Tuten, wife of L.O.Tuten, died three days after
Vicy's death.
