She had been in declining health for some time. A native of Florida, she had lived in Pierce County for many years. A daughter of Mrs.Pearlie Rawls Bennett of Waycross and the late John E.Altman, she was the widow of the late Dawkin Fowler. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are two daughters; Mrs.Bruce Robson of Blackshear and Mrs.Hewshal Thornton of Jesup; seven sisters, Mrs.L.H.Dixon and Mrs.Bobby Lucas, both of Waycross, Mrs.Lola Mae Thornton of Patterson, Mrs.Vercie Bennett of Winter Haven, FL, Mrs.O.W.Howell of Savannah, Mrs.Bill Frazier of Pensacola, FL, and Mrs.Dorothy Cason of Blackshear; a brother, J.E.Altman of Waycross. There are six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several other relatives. Services for Mrs.Fowler were at 3:30 Thursday afternoon from the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Officiating were the Rev.Robert Anderson and the Rev.David L.Roehl. Interment was in the Ben James Cemetery. Clough-Pearson Funeral Home was in charge.
