Funeral services for Mrs. Cassie Jordan Peacock, 67, who died at her home near Blackshear Sunday afternoon, Jan. 11, after an illness of four weeks, were held Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 11:00 o'clock at the Ben James Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Henry Tyre and Elder George Cole officiating. Burial was in the churchyard cemetery. Mrs. Peacock was a native of Pierce county and the widow of the late J.M. Peacock. She was a member of the Ben James Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors are nine daughters, Mrs. Milton Golub, Mrs. D.R. Meeks, Mrs. Alvin Pearson, Mrs. Frank Davis, Miss Margurite Peacock and Miss Louise Peacock, all of Blackshear; Mrs. John H. Maddox of Alma; Mrs. D.E. Christmas of Waycross and Mrs. Fred Crawford of Augusta; two sons, E.C. and J.C. Peacock of Blackshear; two sisters, Mrs. Azielee Broome and Mrs. Katie Carter of Augusta; three brothers, Randall Jordan of Alma, Arch Jordan of St. Petersburg, FL, and W.P. Jordan of Tallahassee, FL. She had 15 grandchildren and one greatr grandchild. Active pallbearers were Harold Jordan, Hugh Jordan, Windell Peacock, Ward Peacock, Omer Davis and Alton Peacock. Honorary pallbearers were Quitman James, Lonnie Smith, Leroy Smith, Herman Carter, Melvin Minchew, Elzie Jordan, Millard Johnson, Dan Moore, Harry James and Archie James.
