Mrs. Earnie Tuten Died Thursday

     Mrs. Earnie Peacock Tuten, widow of the James H. Tuten, died suddenly at
her home Thursday morning. Her parents were the late John and Mary Peeples
Peacock, both members of largely connected Pierce County families. Mrs. Tuten
was a faithful member of the Ben James Primitive Baptist Church.
     Survivors are one daughter, Mary Kate Douglas of Atlanta; seven sons;
Arthur and Eugene Tuten of Waycross, Horace Tuten of Douglas, Eldridge, Donald,
Leroy and Julian Tuten of Blackshear; one sister, Mrs. Daisy Burrell of Blackshear.
     Funeral services were held Friday from the Ben James Church in Pierce
County with Rev.Henry Tyre of Screven in charge. Active pall-bearers were
William Tuten, Tracy Youmans, Wallace Stuckey, Adrian Tuten, Ralph Peacock and
Alton O'Quinn. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Darling Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.
