Youmans, died at the home of her son, Steve C. Youmans in Waycross early Friday morning following a long illness. Her parents were the late R.T. James and Rebecca Dowling James, pioneer citizens of Pierce County. She was a loyal member of the Ben James Primitive Baptist Church and was active in the work until failing health caused her to give up this work. Surviving are four sons, C.H.D. Youmans, former superintendent of Pierce County schools and now of the Patterson school faculty; Clinton Youmans and Stephen C. Youmans of Waycross and Leon W. Youmans of Macon, in addition to 13 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Ben James church in Pierce County with the Rev.Mack Tyre officiating. Darling Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were G.E. Youmans, Quitman James, Lawton Smith, Everett Moore, John S. Bowen and James Tuten.
