Terrell Jackson Andrew ca 1878 20 May 1917 son of Robert Thomas Jackson and Sarah Elizabeth Coggin ** Note from Mary Wolfe added Sep 2003** I don't know exactly to whom my husband was related. I do know that all of the COGGINS were related to his grandmother, Esther Marie (COGGINS) WOLFE HATHCOCK. There was a large community of COGGINS during the first part of the 1800s at Hollonville, GA. We went to the house of a very elderly man in Hollonville, GA. He was a COGGINS. He told us a lot about the family. The family had come from NC. There is a pretty large COGGINS cemetery in Hollonville, GA. The whites were buried at the front of the cemetery, and the African Americans were buried at the back of the cemetery. The land across the road from the COGGIN's cemetery now belongs to the African American COGGINS families. There is also a very old COGGINS cemetery out in the woods. I don't remember where. The graves dated to the early 1800s. The sides of each grave were 2-3 feet tall and made of slate rock. Another slate rock was placed on top of each grave. There was a rather large plantation across the road from the COGGINS cemetery of white COGGINS in 1860. I think the man who owned it was a doctor. The slaves took the name COGGINS after the Civil War. Many of the white COGGINS family moved to Coweta County, GA. They lived in several places in Coweta County, GA. There is a COGGINS Road near Madras, GA. It was named for George COGGINS. My husband's grandmother's family lived on the banks of the Chattahoochee River. They ran a ferry across the river in the 1870s at where Yellow Dirt power plant is now located. They lived across the river from Glenlock, GA which is in Heard County, GA....Mary WOLFE
