Coming from Meansville Take Means Road out of Meansville the road changes from Pavement to dirt and I guess at that point it becomes Old Cannary Road. Driving down this road about one and a half miles you will cross a small stream on the county map it is called Gola Creek just as you start up the hill you should notice the cemetery Driveway to the right. If you miss it you will see the cemetery at the top of the hill. There is a private Road straight across from the Cemetery is named Sprayberry Road. Upon entering the cemetery my heart sunk and I was immediately sadden by its condition. It is in a serious state of despair. It is obvious that someone was trying to clean it up. All the timber has been harvested Stumps everywhere even some of the rock stone markers had been crushed by a bulldozer. Every where I looked there was rows upon rows of unmarked grave sites with nothing more than a rock at each end many with nothing but a sunken depression in the ground. It was nearing dark and I was not able to try to count all the grave sites. Just guessing there must be 200 to 250 or more with nothing But a rock for a marker maybe fifty or more with a slab With no names. A man who stopped and asked what I was doing there. He told me he thought it was Cemetery for people of color noting he has seen African Americans there from time to time. I do not know but it may very well be. I will go back and leave notes there for information on the cemetery and will see if anyone responds. For now, I will call this Cemetery The kings Cemetery and will change it at any time if anyone can tell what the name of the cemetery is. This cemetery will be very hard to transcribe. In places there is a few marked Grave site. I will describe as best I can. Grave sites Transcribed Kings Cemetery Located at the entrance of cemetery right side of the road Unmark slab Rodger F.
