John Wesley Adams died January 21, 1885. Benjamin Howel Adams died June 30, 1890. Jeremiah Adams and Julia Ann Virden were married December 21, 1843. They are my great great grandparents. Their son Reuben Jackson Adams was my great grandfather and he married Alice Eugenia Ann Caroline Lifsey. A small portion of the above information was also found in an Adams family Bible. I copied the pages from the Bible. This gives true sources for the information. Now to give you the little bit of Virden information that I presently have to share. This comes from a very informed Adams cousin who lives in Pike county and has also taken me to the grave sites. I will send scanned pictures of the graves on a separate email. My Adams cousin told me William Virden,(born in 1791 and was a soldier in the War of 1812 - he died in 1841 leaving a large family) was found in a Union District, South Carolina census - I do not know the year. He moved to GA and was the Father of Julia Ann Virden, Mary Elizabeth Virden, and James N. Virden,(James was born October 31, 1822 - his wife was Mariah Stephens and they lived in the Milner area, then Pike County) - (these children among others that presently I do not know) and then as you can see the one headstone says Levinie Ann Virden Stocks, born 1852/died 1875 - we might assume another daughter. We do know that William had a brother named Thomas Virden. I was told that Thomas and his wife ? had been charter members of Century Nelson Church and went to China as Missionaries......Barbara Slade Dayhuff
