Dozier The son of Greene Dozier and Constantia Hunt was born 10-May-1836, evidently in Columbia County, Georgia. Probably he and his brother Ignatius moved to Barnesville about the same time. Williamson [sometimes appears as Wilson] married Cornelia Elizabeth Cawthen 12-Feb-1857. James Capers and his brother Edgar Wilson were the only sons of W. W. Dozier. Williamson enlisted in the Confederate Army early in the 1860s. His division was sent to Kentucky and while there he contacted Black Measles [typhoid fever]. from which he died on 23 September 1862. Georgia, Pike County This Indenture made this twentieth day of November A. D. eighteen hundred and Sixty Between James Cawthen of the County and State aforesaid of the one part and Wilson [sic] W. Dozier of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the Said James Cawthen for and in consideration of the sum of Forty Five Hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents both granted, bargained, & Sold and conveyed and by these presents doth grant, bargain sell & convey unto the said Wilson W. Dozier the following tracts or parcels of land. ToWit, all of lot of land Number (59) Fifty Nine in the Seventh District of originally Monroe (now Pike) County, also the South half of lot (number (60) Sixty) in said district and also one hundred acres off the last portion of lots of land numbers (37) thirty seven and thirty- eight (38) in said district Containing in all four hundred and three acres more or less -- To have and to hold said tracts or parcels of land unto him the said Wilson W. Dozier his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights (members and appurtenances to the same in any manner belonging except that the said James Cawthen receives to himself the right of residing on said lands so long as he may desire or during life -- to his and his own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple -- And the said James Cawthen for himself his heirs executors & administrators the said bargained premises unto him the said Wilson W. Dozier his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against the claims of themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever. S. Thornton Jas Cawthen Jonathan Milner and R A Benson. And he pray as your honor to grant him an order and [illegible] him to Sell Said Lanns [sic] as he believes it to be to the interest of Said Estate and for the [illegible] of Distribution. Aug 30th 1870 M. F. Cochran Georgia * Whereas M. F. Cochran Admin of the Estate of Pike County * W W Dozier dec'd applies to me for an order to Sell Real Estate belonging to the Estate of W W Dozier dec'd. These are therefore to cite and admonish all Persons concerned to be and appear at my office within the time prescribed by Law, to Show cause if any they have why Said order Should not be granted.
