Georgia

This Indenture made the twenty first day of March in the year of our Lord 
eighteen hundred and thirty five between Augustus Crawford of the County of 
Madison of the one part and William J. Ellis of the County of Pike of the other 
part both of the State aforesaid.  Witnesseth that for and in consideration of 
the sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars in hand well and freely paid the 
receipt and arrangement whereof is hereby acknowledged at and before the 
sealing and delivering of these presents.  The said Augustus Crawford hath 
granted bargained and sold and doth by these presents grant bargain sell and 
convey all of that tract or lot of land situate lying and being in County of 
now Pike formerly Monroe in the second District and known and distinguished in 
the plan of said District by Number one hundred and twenty two containing two 
hundred and two and a half acres be the same more or less granted to the heirs 
of the Benjamin Higginbottam and by these conveyed to the said Augustus 
Crawford to have and to hold the above described tract or lot of land together 
with all and singular the right members and appurtenances thereunto belonging 
or in anywise appertaining to the said William J. Ellis by general warranty not 
only against the claim of him the said Augustus Crawford his heirs executors 
administrators or assigns but also against the claim of all and every persons 
or persons whatsoever.  In testimony whereof he the said Augustus Crawford hath 
hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written.
