This Indenture made and entered into the twenty second of November in the year 
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven between Noah D. Ellis 
of the said State of one part and Benjamin Maddox of the said State and County 
of Monroe of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Noah D. Ellis for and in 
consideration of the sum of three hundred Dollars to him in hand paid at and 
before the sealing and delivering of these presents of these presents the 
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed 
and by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Benjamin 
Maddox his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and 
being in the second District of originally Monroe now Pike County known and 
distinguished in the plan of said District by Lot number one hundred and thirty 
nine (139) to have and to hold unto him the said Benjamin Maddox his heirs and 
assigns together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto and forever 
in fee simple and the said Noah D. Ellis for himself his heirs executors 
administrators and assigns the bargained unto the said Benjamin Maddox his 
heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof 
against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever.
