This Indenture made this the 21st of August in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine
between J. W. Howard of the one part and Martha M. A.
Howard of the other part both of the county and State
aforesaid.  Witnesseth that the said J. W. Howard for and
in consideration of the sum of Forty Dollars given in
hand paid at the time of sealing and delivery of the
receipt.  Whereof is hereby acknowledged both granted
bargained and sold and do by their presents grant bargain
and sell forever to the said Martha M. A. Howard her
heirs and assigns his interest of Sixty Seven and on half
acres of land or the one third part of the lot 49in the
Seventh district of the county originally named now Pike
in the South east corner of said lot.  All my undivided
interest in the above described lands to have and to hold
all and singular the rights members and appurtenances
whatsoever are interest belonging forever in fee simple
and I the said J. W. Howard nameth and foreverdefend the
previous aforsaid for myself my heirs executors  and
administrators and all and every other person or persons
whosoever wants the aforsaid.  Martha M. A. Howard her
heirs and assigns forever to her and their own proper
benefit and behalf in witness whereof I have henceto set
my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
