S.C, Recorded March 28th 1862 Charles T. Redding, Dept. C., S.C. Additional Comments: John H. Parker was married to Martha Byram, daughter of Beverly Byram and Sarah Williamson of Mecklenburg, NC and Pike County, GA. James A. Parker, who married Martha Henrietta Stewart, was John's son. This land is located about two and a half miles southwest of Senoia in Coweta County and about a mile and a half north of Bethel Methodist Church, where several of Beverly and Sarah Byram's descendants are buried. John H. Parker was apparently suffering from some type of debilitating disease which had begun in the 1840s and was listed as "insane" in both the 1850 and 1860 Pike County censuses. I can find no record of him after the 1860 census and this deed.
