Deed November 3, 1856 Pike County, GA Deed Book L, page 162 Whereas in conformity to an order granted of the Court of Ordinary of said county passed on the third day of November in the year of 1856, James Anderson, Seaborn J. Whatley, and William H. Whatley executors of James Whatley deceased having given legal notice in the Georgia Journal and Messenger did on the sixth day of January 1857 offer at public outcry in the town of Zebulon certain lots of land viz. number 78 (seventy-eight), 79 (seventy-nine), 80 (eighty), 82 (eighty-two), 84 (eighty-four), and two acres more or less off of number 51 (fifty-one) all in the eight district of Pike County and Wilson Whatley, William Whatley and Seaborn Whatley being the highest and best bidder of said lots or parcels of land were knocked off to them at four thousand and nine hundred dollars. Now therefore this indenture made and entered into between James Anderson of Upson County, Seaborn J. Whatley of Harris County, and William H. Whatley of Jones County, executors of James Whatley deceased of the first part and Wilson Whatley, William Whatley and Seaborn Whatley of the counties of Jones and Harris, state of Georgia of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Anderson, Seaborn Whatley and William Whatley, executors for and in consideration of said four thousand and nine hundred dollars to them in hand sold and conveyed unto the said Wilson Whatley, William Whatley and Seaborn Whatley so far as their power of executors can bargain, sell, and convey all said numbers of land 78 (seventy-eight), 79 (seventy-nine), 80 (eighty), 82 (eighty-two), 84 (eighty-four), and five acres more or less on the west side of Reedy Creek being part of number 51 (fifty-one) in said eighth district of Pike County, except one half acre in a square form southeast of the Mount Zion Meeting House with all the rights, members, appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto them to the said Wilson Whatley, William Whatley, and Seaborn J. Whatley, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns to them and their proper use, benefits and behoof forever in feel simple. In witness whereof the said James Anderson, Seaborn Whatley, William Whatley executors as aforesaid have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written.
