This is taken from the 1882-1883 City Directory for Spalding and Pike
County:

JENKINSVILLE
PIKE COUNTY
Jenkinsville is one of the prettiest villages in the county. Located on
Flint River in the southwestern portion, twenty-two miles from Griffin,
and same distance from Barnesville. Fine farming country, healthy and
possesses good society. In the town and vicinity are mills, gins, good
churches and schools, the latter in charge of Professor W.S. White and
Miss Annie L. Pritchard.
