APPLICATION FOR PENSIONS DUE DECEASED SOLDIER. UNDER ACT APPROVED OCTOBER 9, 1891. STATE OF GEORGIA, Pike County. Personally before me come Misses Eva Ballard, Mary Willie Ballard, & Essie Ballard, of said county, after being duly sworn, on oath says that they are the daughters of J.P. Ballard who was duly enrolled as an indigent Confederate Pensioner from the county of Pike and was paid a Pension of Sixty Dollars from Pike County for 1905, and that the said J.P. Ballard died in Pike County on the 28 day of Jany [sic] 1906, and at the time of his death a Pension of $60.00 was due him from Pike County and unpaid for 1906. Applicants further swear they are the dependent daughters of said J.P. Ballard and that their mother who was the lawful wife of J.P. Ballard married the said on the [blank] day of [blank] 18 [blank] in Pike County, State of Georgia and they have resided with him from their birth to his death as his lawful children and are now his dependent children and they ask that the Pension so due be paid to them. Sworn to and subscribed before me this 9th day of Feby [sic] 1906. J.W. Ballard while in life and that he knows Misses Eva Ballard, Mary Willie Ballard and Essie Ballard the above applicants that he knows that the said J.P. Ballard and their Mother [Miss Kittie Avery] were in due form of law married in the County of Pike in the State of Georgia on the 18th day of October 1870, and that they resided together as husband and wife from date of marriage to the date of her death on the [blank] day of about 1890, and I now know that they are his dependent daughters.
