reciept for the pension allowed and request that he remit same to The Ordinary 
at Zebulon Ga.

I thought this was interesting being that it has information on him I have 
typed it word for word that I can read 

Questions for applicant 
state of GA. Pike county 
D. M. Childs of the state and county, desiring to avail himself of the pension 
Act (section 1254 code} , hereby submits his proofs, and after being duly sworn 
true answers to make to the following questions. deposes and answers as 
follows. 
1. What is your name and where do you reside? give state, county and post 
office. 
D. M. Childs, in Pike County Meal Ga. 
2. How long and since when have you been a residence. of this state. 
62 years since 1837 
3. when were you born? 
Upson county GA. March 1837 
4. When and where and what company and regiment did you serve or enlist? 
In Sept 1861 in Pike County Co., 27th. Regt Ga. 
5. how long did you remaining such company and regiment? 
One year was discharged and come home, then enlisted GA State? And one and half 
years 
6. For how long a period did you discharge regular military duty? 
2 and a half years. 
7. when, where and under circumstances were you discharged from service? 
First in Va. on account of disability Sept 1862 I then served State line troops 
and discharged at close of the war 
8. What is your present occupation? 
I am not able to follow any ?. 
9. How much can you earn gross per annum by your own excertion or labor? 
Nothing 
10. What has been you occupation since 1865? 
Farming 
This goes on for twenty more questions asking about what he owns and his 
disability.
