This company, together with the regiment and Army of Northern Virginia, broke up camp at Clarke Mountain May 4,1864 . Was engaged in the battle of Wilderness, Va. May 5,1864 , when one man was killed, one officer, and twelve men were wounded. The company was engaged in subsequent marches and skir-mishes until May 12,1864 , when the battle of Spotsylvania, Va. was fought, where three men were wounded (one mor-tally), and five captured. From thence to Richmond, Va. and Hanover Junction. Was in all the skirmishes, and on June 2, 1864 , had an engagement with the enemy on the Mechanicsville Road, when two men were wounded. Left for Lynchburg, Va. June 12th. Marched to Charlottesville, Va., one hundred miles, in four days. Was engaged around Lynchburg, and in pursuit of Hunter's forces as far as Salem, Va. From thence towards the Potomac, crossing July 5th, after capturing Martinsburg with many stores July 3d. Was engaged at Harper's Ferry and Maryland Heights July 6th and 9th,1864 , when one man was killed, four wounded and three left in hands of the enemy. Thence to the defences around Washington, D. C. Left there night of July 12,1864 , recrossed the Potomac River July 14th, skirmished at Snicker's Gap, Va. July 19th, when one man was wounded. Crossed the Potomac August 5, recrossed August 6th. August 11th was engaged at Winchester, Va. August 17th one man was killed and enemy driven off. Marched to Charlestown, W. Va. Fought at Winchester September 19, 1864 , when four men were wounded and left in hands of enemy. Was engaged in battle at Fisher's Hill, Va. September 22d, when one man was killed and one taken prisoner. At Cedar Run, Va. on October 19, one man was killed one officer and one man wounded and three men captured.
