Lee of the Weaver community tells us of a wonderful hen which he bought the first of last April for forty cents. She is a top-knot Buff Orpington. She was laying when he bought her and laid for some twenty days when she sat and raised a large gang of chickens. When she weaned them she began laying immediately again and then raised another gang of chickens and then went to laying again and laid until about two weeks before Christmas. She then took a holiday until Christmas Day when she went to laying again and has been laying everyday since and the Lord only knows when she will stop. We have many wonderful hens in Pike county but it will be hard for any of them to get ahead of this old sister.
