M. and O.R. Crawley indicted Friday for killing W.M. Carden J.M. and O.R. Crawley, both well known residents of Griffin, surrendered themselves last night to Sheriff Harrison, of Pike County. The grand jury of that county found a true bill against these two parties Friday, charging them with the murder of W.M. Carden, at Milner last week. Since the killing of Carden, officers have been searching for the two Crawleys, but they could not be located. It was said that they would surrender themselves as soon as a true bill was found by the Pike grand jury. Friday the bill of indictment was found and Sheriff Harrison came over in Griffin yesterday to locate the Crawleys. Late in the day they surrendered and today will be lodged in the Pike county jail. It is understood on the streets of Griffin that they have employed counsel in Griffin and Zebulon and that they will ask for release under bond, claiming self defense in the shooting of Carden. It will be remembered that Carden, while marshal at Milner, killed a brother of the Crawleys some time ago. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
