We are glad to secure her services as a teacher. She has twenty-five in attendance and more to come in at once. We are sorry to note the death of the three months old child of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. McLeroy. M.S. Williamson has just purchased a fine mule. I.W. McLeroy, R.F.D. carrier from Griffin spent Sunday with the family of R.R. McLeroy. Babe Green has moved form the Green place to the Nelson place, near Williamson. John F. Green of Griffin was here Thursday on business. Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Kendrick visited relatives at Orchard Hill Sunday. Mrs. Annie Pitts of Carrollton is the guest of friends and relatives here. Miss Mattie Pitts and Lafayette Buchanan were the guests of Miss Lillian Williamson Sunday. The farmers in this section are a little blue over the price of cotton. But we propose to reduce the acreage and the use guano and try to raise all of the stuff we need at home and make our cotton a surplus crop. (Transcribed by Lynn Ballard Cunningham 9/5/02)
