The Pike County Journal February 3, 1928

Mr. James Knight, age 80, died at his home in Woodbury Monday and was buried 
at Jones Chapel Tuesday afternoon. The funeral services being conducted by his 
pastor, Rev. McKay, Rev. Holland, pastor of the Methodist church and Rev. 
Gideon Horne of Meansville, his former pastor.

Mr. Knight was a good man, a member of Jones Chapel church, [and] a brave 
Confederate soldier under Lee. He is survived by his widow and 12 children. 
Mrs. Eugene Weaver is one of his daughters. He had many friends in Pike County.
