It is not generally known that out at High Shoals Falls lives a gentleman who 
is a brother to the man for the murder of whom Tom Delk now languishes in jail 
under the sentence of death. The details of the brutal murder of Mr. Gwyn in 
Pike county by Taylor and Tom Delk is well remembered by our readers. Dr. J. P. 
Gwyn, of High Shoals, is a brother to the murdered man, and was born and reared 
in Pike county, but has been living at High Shoals since 1888. Dr. Gwyn was in 
the city Monday and gave us a call. "Yes," said he, "my brother was a few years 
older than myself, but we were very much alike in stature and features. He was 
a brave man and knew not fear." Dr. Gwyn is a popular and successful physician 
and a clever gentleman. - Athens Banner.

Dr. J.P. Gwyn was a brother of Sheriff William O. Gwyn who was killed in a 
shoot-out with the Delk Gang in 1896.
