Crawford’s place near Concord, was in Griffin on Friday, and after doing his shopping left for his home. Just as Crouch got in front of his home he was met by Bob Barefield, a negro well known in Spalding, when a quarrel ensued over some trivial matter, and Bob pulled his pistol and opened fire.
