Barnesville, Georgia, July 17, 1890 Concord, Ga., July 12, 1890. Editor Gazette Barnesville, Ga., Dear Sir: - I am authorized to say to the surviving members of No. S. 27th Regt. Ga., Volt.; that they have agreed to meet each other in Concord, Ga. on the 23rd inst. and be there on the 24 inst. to take part in the County Reunion. That will take place on the day above mentioned. Each and every one of them are cordially invited to meet at Concord on the night of July 23rd and we hope as many as possible can, will meet us. And we hope as many of all the other commands as can will meet [with us on] the above date mentioned. [Unreadable-page torn] that politics and everything of the kind will be left at home. We further hope that each one will be able to lay aside all prejudice, at least for the day. Let each one come prepared to invest or take part in that particular love that only soldiers can feel for each other. As this notice goes to the Gazette by request of one of the committee of arrangements of the old company above mentioned, I hope that Barnesville's old artillery men will be present on that occasion if he has been forced to wear his old Grey Uniform. Respectfully, G.W. Strickland, Concord, Ga. (Transcribed 12/1/02 Lynn Cunningham) File size: 1.7 Kb
