June 14, 1907 On last Friday a number of the Zebulon young people enjoyed a most delightful day’s outing at Slade’s pond. The crowd left in a wagon early Friday morning in true picnic style and were charmingly chaperoned by Mrs. C.R. Gwyn. Fishing, boat riding and an elegant dinner served by the young ladies of the party were some of the many pleasures enjoyed during the day. All returned late in the afternoon reporting a most pleasant time. Those composing the party were as follows: Misses Cecil Dominick, Mattie Dupree, Etta Parks, Pearl Wilder, Esther Moreland, Ruth and Evelyn Howard, Carolyn Gwyn, Annie and Jennie Jenkins, of Griffin, and Mrs. C.R. Gwyn. Messrs Ethan Fincher, John H. Milner, Walter Beckham, Edgar Howell, Virgil Wood, Erastus Smith, Harvie Hale and Hartford Green, of Griffin.
