Barnesville, Georgia, May 1, 1890 On Wednesday night last week the death angel took the spirit of Mrs. L.C. Holmes to a better land, and left the loved ones on earth in sorrow. Mrs. Holmes had for a long time been a great sufferer, and while all the medical attention was given her that could be well secured, she still suffered and death was the only relief. She was buried in Milner last Friday, to which a large number of people had gathered to mourn for her whom they had so much loved. To all of the sorrowing loved ones, we offer the sympathy of a sorrowing community. (Transcribed 11/29/02 Lynn Cunningham) Note: At Milner Cemetery, Lamar (formerly Pike) County, Georgia: Nimia G.
