Barnesville, Georgia, Thursday, April 10, 1890 Bluff Springs I was very much surprised when I heard of Mr. Wash Hardens death which occurred last Saturday evening. It has been a very short time since I saw him when he appeared to be in good health. But even good health is no sure evidence that we will live another year, for the past tells the truth when he says that "disease lurks in every flower." But I wish to say right here that I was acquainted with Mr. Harden for thirty years, and saw that he was a man of good qualities. He was a Christian gentleman, and his neighbors will miss him very much, as the death of a good man always causes a void in society that is not always easily filled. - Jones Bush (Transcribed 11/29/02 Lynn Cunningham)
