Zebulon, Pike Co., Ga., Friday, September 15, 1893 Walter H. Rhett, one of the brightest members of the Atlanta bar committed suicide last Tuesday by shooting himself through the heart with a pistol. Drink and financial troubles are said to have been the main cause of the rash act. Mrs. Rhett, was born and raised in Zebulon, where she yet has many friends. Her maiden name was Miss Annie Raymond Reid. She was a daughter of Dr. Robert Reid and a grand daughter of Dr, Caldwell. (Transcribed 10/28/02 Lynn Cunningham)
