Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, May 31, 1895 G.W. Strickland Dead The following telegram was received by Dr. Mathews yesterday: "Brother G.W. Strickland of Mt. Olive Lodge No. 122 died at Cataula, Ga., last night. Will be buried at Concord tomorrow at 10 o'clock a.m. on arrival of train from Columbus. invite Zebulon lodge to attend. His request." Mr. Strickland died of heart disease. At the time of his death he was with his son, Will, who has a government job at Cataula on the nar[row] gauge road between Greenville and Columbus. Mr. Strickland was selling fruit trees for a nursery at Concord, and left home in apparently good health. He was a member of the Baptist church at Concord and one of Pike's most prominent citizens.
