Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, May 1, 1896 Mrs. Mary A. Hammond died of consumption on the 27th inst. at the home of her son-in-law, Elder J.A. Wright. Her home was in Spalding county but she had been at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wright for three months previous to her death. At the time of her death Mrs. Hammond was 72 years of age and had been a faithful member of the primitive Baptist church for more than 50 years. She was buried at the old homestead in Spalding county. The funeral service was conducted by Elder W.T. Godard.
