M. Funeral services for Mr. U. Union Green, prominent Pike County farmer, were conducted from the Mt. Gilead Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. John Rawls, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the churchyard with Haisten brothers, funeral directors, in charge. Pallbearers were Millard Davis, J. F. Davis, Chester Kendrick, Wesley Gaddy, Edwin Pitts, and Dewey Clark. Mr. Green, 69 years of age, died suddenly at his home near Mt. Gilead Baptist church in Pike county Sunday night at 6 o'clock. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead church, and was a well known farmer. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Leila Buchanan Green; a son, Buren Green of Pike county; three brothers, E. F., Jim and Pat Green, of Wadley, Ala.; and a sister, Mrs. Pellie Rice, of LaFayette, Ala.
