He was subject to heart trouble for some time past, an attack occurring early Sunday morning from which he apparently recovered but was soon followed by the second attack, to which he succumbed in a few minutes. Mr. Aiken was one of our most honorable and upright citizens and will be greatly missed. He has held the office as one of Pike county's commissioners and was at the time of his death one of the county's tax equalizers. His first wife died a year or so ago, and six weeks before his death he was married to Miss Bennett of Barnesville. He leaves his widow and seven sons, and all who knew him to mourn his going away. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church, and his funeral was conducted by Elders Elliott and Goddard, and interment was at the old burial grounds on the Williamson home near here.
