Allen Mrs. R.H. Allen died at her home in Williamson last Sunday morning. She was the life long companion of Judge R.H. Allen, one of the oldest and best loved citizens of the county. She was 81 years of age and had been married to her husband with whom she had so happily lived for over 60 years. It must seem hard to “Uncle Bob” as he is familiarly known, to have spent the many years so blissfully in her companionship, and now must spin out his few remaining days alone. Mrs. Allen had been a devout member of the Methodist church practically all her life and had lived a consecrated devoted life. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.V. Weathers in the Methodist church in Williamson last Monday and she was buried in the afternoon in the cemetery at that place. She leaves “Uncle Bob” and several children to mourn her death. Their friends tender them kindest sympathies. (Transcribed by Lynn Ballard Cunningham 9/5/02)
