Beckham, a pioneer in the field of juvenile courts, died today of a heart attack at the age of 73. He had headed Dade County's Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court since 1933. He was a former president of the National Association for Juvenile court judges. Judge Beckham represented the National Council of Juvenile Court Judges of America at the fourth International Congress of Juvenile Court Judges in Brussels, Belguim, in 1954. In 1948 it was said of him that none of his 20,000 rulings on children had been appealed. He once called "The delinquency of the overprivledged" a more serious problem than that induced by poverty. He married Clara Octavia Marshall on June 19, 1918 in Lumpkin, Stewart Co., Georgia. Clara died on July 13, 1973 in Dougherty Co., Georgia.
