Mrs. Butler, who was subject to spells of fainting, got up during the night to wait on the baby. Mr. Butler, who is almost deaf, states that he knew when his wife got up he went immediately back to sleep. When he awoke this morning he found his wife dead, where she had fallen in the fire, her face and head fearfully burned. The baby was still alive, but was so badly burned that it died during the day. The tragedy is a horrible one and the people of the community are greatly saddened over it. Mr. Butler and his wife are widely connected and belong to the best families of the section.
