He was 69 years of age on the 10th of last February. He is survived by his wife and 7 children as follows: Henry, Charlie, Jerry, Famous, Floyd, William Coggin and Laura Bankston. Also 30 grandchildren. The funeral was at the Mt. Hope Baptist church in Zebulon, of which Uncle Sandy had been a member 43 years, being conducted by his pastor, Rev. Robinson of Griffin, and his former pastor, Rev. W.J. Brown of Forsyth. Burial was in Fuller Chapel cemetery. Uncle Sandy stood well with the white people who knew him, as well as with the members of his own race. He was a member of the Union Investment Lodge at Union Hill, and of the Colored Masonic Lodge at Concord for the past 20 years.
