Coggin, a prominent farmer of Pike county, died at his home in Hollonville at 6 o'clock this morning as the result of two terrific blows received on the head from a wagon standard in the hands of Lewis Henderson, a white tenant, at about 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. According to the best information obtainable Coggin was advancing on Henderson with a drawn knife when struck. No arrest has been made.
